Willem Crevels


Willem Hubert Crevels of Guillaume Crevels (Roermond, April 9, 1855 - Amsterdam, March 1, 1916) was a Dutch sculptor. Life and work

Crevels was employed in the Atelier Cuypers-Stoltzenberg in Roermond since 1868. He pulled in the footsteps of architect Pierre Cuypers in 1878 to Amsterdam. He became a teacher at the craft industry school Quellinus.

In 1893 he started working with the sculptor Emil Van den Bossche from Belgium, Atelier Van den Bossche and Crevels. They were responsible for the sculpture at the Golden Koets. Crevels died in Amsterdam, where he was buried at Zorgvlied. Also see
