After graduating at the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1961, in 1965, Van Horn began working on animation, which would keep him busy until 1977; During this time, his son Noel (1968) was born, followed by his father's footsteps. Since 1977, he has started producing illustrations for children's books, then collaborating with Blackthorne Publishing from 1985 to 1988. Meanwhile, he began his work in Disney, first at Gladstone Publishing (1987), then at Egmont ( 1991), with whom he still collaborates; in his stories, gives life to the character of Rumpus McFowl, brother of Uncle Paperone, who appeared for the first time in 1994's It's All Relative adventure.
