Esteban José Martínez Fernández and Martínez de la Sierra (Seville, 1742 - 1798) was a Spanish navigator and explorer.

It was a key figure in the Spanish Northwestern exploration of the Pacific. In 1774 it was the second in command of the Spanish Frigate Santiago, led by Juan José Pérez Hernández, during the first European expedition to get in touch with the Haida of the islands of Queen Carlotta. In 1789 Martínez commanded an expedition that built a fort at Nootka Bay, abandoning the region the following year due to clashes with the local population.
