International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies

International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) is an independent non-profit dome organization that coordinates the activities and annual conferences of more than 75 international, national and local Jewish genealogical organizations around the world. The IAJGS was established in 1988 to provide a common voice for its members in key issues and to promote the exercise of genealogy. Almost all local, national and international Jewish genealogical associations and some Jewish specialized genealogical interest groups are members of the IAJGS. Conferences

IAJGS coordinates annually a conference on Jewish genealogy, always in another city. In 2010, the conference was held in Los Angeles, organized by the Jewish Genealogical Society of Los Angeles (JGSLA). In 2011, the 31st IAJGS conference will be held in Washington DC from 14 to 19 August. The conference is organized by the Jewish Genealogy Society of Greater Washington (JGSGW). IAJGS International Jewish Cemetery Project

The IAJGS International Jewish Cemetery Project documents Jewish cemeteries throughout the world. This IAJGS project identifies cemeteries and is not an index of individual names and digging. The documentation is provided with source listings and is available on the internet. The documentation pages also gathered information about the history of the Jewish population on the ground, especially in the Second World War. There are also historical data regarding the size of the Jewish population. Also see
