Klooster Crna Reka

The Monastery Crna Reka

The Crna Reka Monastery (Serbian: Манастир Црна Река) is a 13th-century Serbian orthodox monastery located in northern Kosovo. The monastery is located on the Crna Reka (Black River) and contains a church in a cave dedicated to archangel Michaël with 16th-century frescos and relics of St. Peter of Korisha. In the 16th century, the Ottomans attacked the monks of the Sopocani monastery, causing them to seek refuge in the remote Crna Reka monastery.
