Marianne Hofstee-van Hoorn


Marianne Hofstee-van Hoorn (Single) was a Dutch mayor and director. Life and work

Hofstee-van Hoorn was born in the Groningen One, but moved to Oosterbeek on the Veluwe in her youth. She married the Groningen professor of psychology Willem Hofstee and settled in the Drentse village Yde. Politically she was active for the PvdA. She became councilor and councilor in the municipality of Vries. After being employed in this municipality for 20 years, she was appointed in May 1995 as acting mayor of Gasselte. At the time of its appointment, preparations for the municipal reorganization in Drenthe were already under way. Gasselte would go up in the new municipality of Aa and Hunze and she was the last mayor of the municipality of Gasselte. On January 1, 1998, the new municipality was a fact. In autumn 1997 Hofstee-van Hoorn was appointed chairman of the Dwingelderveld National Park. This feature would be up to 2008.
