Orient (motorcycle)


Orient is a historic motorcycle and automotive brand.

Orient: Waltham Mfg. Co., Waltham Massachusetts (1898-1905).

American brand that came on the market with bikes designed by Charles Metz equipped with 2¼ and 2½ hp Aster engines. When Metz's co-directors decided in 1902 to build engine production in favor of automobiles, Metz decided to leave. The Orient motorcycles continued to collaborate with the Marsh brothers in production until Metz in 1905, causing the MM (Marsh-Metz) brand.
