Graduated in Philosophy, professional journalist, stable collaborator as a music critic with the La Stampa and Le Monde newspapers, he also studied harmony and composition with Robert W. Mann. As an author he published: "Farinelli - The Lost Voice" (EDT, 1996); "I'll do this theater great!" (EDT, 1997), investigation of opera theaters; a monograph on Beethoven (Newton Compton, 1980); an analysis of Turandot (1989); "Mozart - The Night of Diversity" (EDT, 2006); "Messiaen - the Angel of Time" (Accademia Perosi, Biella, 2008); "Altruism: Adventures of a Train Traveler" (Giunti Editore, 2009). Member of the Artistic Committee of the Music School of Fiesole, from 2010 to 2014 was artistic director of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana. He collaborates with the creation of the programs of the Pianist "Anima Mundi" directed by Sir John Eliot Gardiner.

Radio Transporter for Radio Tre Rai, Cappelletto is currently working as a writer for the theater, collaborating with many contemporary composers, including Azio Corghi, Michelangelo Lupone, Ennio Morricone, Francesco Pennisi, Riccardo Piacentini, Matteo D'Amico, Claudio Ambrosini, Luca Lombardi. He teaches the reception, production and consumption of music at the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice.
