Junko Ito


Junko Ito, also Junko Ito-Bordage, (Tokyo, circa 1968) is a Japanese organist. Lifecycle

Ito completed her music studies at Kunitachi Music School, where she obtained a bachelor and master and took the Takeoka Award. In 1990 she studied at the Music School of Lyon, followed the classes of Xavier Darasse and Jean Boyer, and achieved the first prize for organ in 1993.

In the international organ concert in Bruges, in the context of the Festival Musica Antiqua, she won the Third Prize. In 1994 she was a finalist in the Calgary International organ concert in Canada. She also won the Third Prize at the International Competition in Tokyo in 1996.

Ito-Bordage is a titularist of the grand organ in Belley's cathedral and teaches organ in Lyon's Maison Diocésaine. She often concerts at home and abroad and has recordings on her name. She is married to the French organist Denis Bordage.
