Klinkenborgh

De Klinkenborgh at the Oudedijk in Pieterburen

De Klinkenborgh is a monumental farm on the Oudedijk in Pieterburen in the Dutch province of Groningen. Description

The Klinkenborgh is a head-to-door villagery. The farm was built in 1924 according to a design by the architect Willem Reitsema. He designed the farm in the midst of the Amsterdam School. He had realized a similar farm, the Kooienburg, one year before in Zuurdijk. One of the barns of the Klinkenborgh farm was built in 1837. The living area (the head) on the east side is connected with a thorny part to the large farmhouse (the hull) on the west side.

The villa is built of dark brick and exhibits a symmetrical pattern of geometrical surfaces, as did Reitsma in the design of Kooiburg. Another agreement is the large tent roof with dormer and crowned with a chimney. 53° 24′ 21″ NB, 6° 27′ 49″ OL
