Governmentlessness is a situation where no government leads the state. Often the term is used in conjunction with anarchy when a situation is meant in which impotence and murder (orb) can occur on a large scale. This can then be distinguished from anarchy or liberalism as a social ideal of the anarchist, anarchic capitalist or libertarian ideologies.
International anarchy is known in international politics. International politics is a system without umbrella authority. There are, in other words, no umbrella institutions that can protect, sanction or impose global policy on all actors in international politics. This anarchy also includes continuous competition (zero-sum: what I win, you lose). Therefore, states must act through self-help: self-esteem, to protect themselves. Also see
