Flat load on a plate

A flat load is a load that acts on a structural part, where the length and width of the load surface have a significant size with respect to the structural part. From a practical point of view, it is also possible to combine batches of point loads and line loads of approximately equal size into flat loads.

Flat loads are entered in a construction calculation in order to be able to determine the occurring deformations and stresses in the structure. The total load exerted by the surface load is: surface of the surface load * average size of the surface load. In formula form: F = A . p g e m {\displaystyle F=A.p_{gem}} .
