The Battle of Saint-Denis was a battle during the Huguenot wars between the Catholics and Protestants. He took place on 10 November 1567 at Saint-Denis in the current French department of Seine-Saint-Denis.
Restless by the Spanish troops on the north-French border (directed against rebellious geyses in the Netherlands), leaking the meeting in Bayonne, and failure of the surprises of Meaux, the protesters struck their camps at Saint -Denis. After failed negotiations with the Court, Louis I decided to take Bourbon-Condé and Gaspard de Coligny to Paris to take in the city.
This followed a confrontation with the Catholic armies led by Anne van Montmorency who suffered a deathly shot during his fight by a gun shot in his back. The struggle, which also led by German and Duchy of Milan mercenaries, would ultimately lead to a file that would go into history as the Peace of Longjumeau.
