Ches Smith is an American drummer, percussionist and vibrator who works in different fields: for example, he plays in experimental rock bands as well as in large jazz ensembles. He has played with, among others, Good for Cows, Ceramic Dog (a band of Marc Ribot), Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3 (with John Zorn), Xiu Xiu, Trevor Dunn, Mary Halvorson, Carla Bozulich, Beat Circus, Sean Hayes and Fred Frith.
