Dirk Dalens I (the Older) (Dordrecht, ca. 1600 - Zierikzee, 1676) was a Dutch painter. He is counted as the Arcadians. Direct relationship with Dirk Dalens II and III has not been demonstrated.
Dirk Dalens I was a student of Moses van Uyttenbroeck and worked for Frederik Hendrik, for example, as mentioned in the Ordinance books of Frederik Hendrik over the years 1637-1650: "Paid to dirk dalens painter, to make four great Schoorsteenstucken, in Huys in the Noordeynde, in 's Gravenhage, the piece until 300, making 1200's, May, 1648.'
