DVB-RCS, the acronym for Digital Video Broadcasting - Return Channel Satellite, is the standard of the European DVB Consortium for the interactive channel in satellite and recently digital terrestrial television broadcasting.
Examples of interactivity are: access to databases, pay-per-view television, software downloads, telesales, telesales, financial services, access to stock quotes, interactive games, etc. The system model assumes that two different communication channels can be established between the platform manager and the end user: model for the Satellite Interactive Network.
