The Aliens gens was a Roman plebeian gens present during the Republic. Alien's name may be derived from the Latin adjective alienus, "foreigner". It was also used as a personal cognomen in the Etruscan gens of Caecina. Aliens have been present in Rome for a long time, but it never seems to have been a particularly large or important gens.
