Foster parenthood


Foster parenting means that someone cares for and cares for someone else's child. This can happen if the parents of the child (temporarily) are unable to educate the child themselves. This may be because they are addicted, divorced or mentally unable to educate the child.

When a child is to be taken out of the house, it is usually first investigated whether there is a direct family that the foster parent can take. Often this is not the case and the child gets to other people. If this is the case then the child is in a so-called 'network foster family'. These can be grandfather and grandmother, but also uncle and aunt or cousin (who are already grown). Also see
