Meibukan (明 武舘) is a branch of karate-do Gōjū-ryū style. It was created by Dai Sensei Meitoku Yagi, a student of the founder of Gōjū-ryū, Master Chojun Miyagi. Meibukan means "House of warrior from the mind as well."
Yagi Sensei opened the first dojo Meibukan in 1952. He was the first student of MIYAGI Sensei registered to have permission. YAGI Sensei is recognized as Menkyo Kaden of the Gōjū-ryū style and was the recipient of Miyagi Sensei, (uniform) and obi, (belt) in 1963, ten years after his death.
