Page Cavanaugh


Page Cavanaugh (Cherokee, Kansas, January 26, 1922 - Granada Hills, December 19, 2008) was an American jazz pianist and jazz singer.

Cavanaugh was from a musical family and when he was in the army he became a member of the "Three Sergeants", a trio with Al Viola on guitar and Lloyd Pratt on double bass, which included in the officers club. After the war, they became known as the "Page Cavanaugh Trio". The trio performed with Frank Sinatra at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, played for The Jack Paar Show on NBC radio and featured in feature films like A Song Is Born, Romance on the High Seas, Big City and Lullaby of Broadway. The trio was especially popular in the fifties and sixties. Their last album was released in 2006.

After that, Cavanaugh opened his own jazz club in Studio City. He died of kidney disease in December 2008.
