Sancho was the fourth son of Ferdinand I and Eleonora Urraca of Castile. Life

He received the title of Grandmaster of the Order of Alcántara in early years, following Fernán Rodríguez de Villalobos. The actual order about the knight order was led by Juan de Sotomayor, who followed Sancho after his early death in 1416.
