Grimace, also Grymace or Grimache, (... - ...), was a French composer, active in the late 14th century. Biography modifies wikitesto

Grimace was active in the musical age known as ars nova and was probably contemporary of Guillaume de Machaut, as his compositions lack the complex rhythms of the subtilior. His dates of birth and death are not known and little is known about him apart from the pieces included in the manuscripts of medieval music. Five jobs are certainly attributable to him; two others are attributed to it based on stylistic similarity. His virelai, A The Weapon, The Weapon, is his most accomplished work today.
