Dieter Schubert (Oschersleben (Bode), Germany, July 15, 1947) is a writer and illustrator of children's books and prints books from Dutch-language literature. biography

After a training (free painting) at the Münster art academy in Germany, he received a scholarship for the Rietveld Academy together with Ingrid Schubert. Following a remark by Piet Klaasse, they joined a picture book together. The result was a crocodile under my bed! (1980). Although they make the most of the books, he received the only book where his name is only -Monkie, (1986) - a golden brush. About their collaboration, Ingrid Schubert says: "We develop a concept, draw a scenario, and then we start sketching. We exchange the sketches and we complement each other.
