EFQM

The European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) is an association based non profit organization founded in 1988 for some of the leading European companies based in Brussels. The purpose of the foundation is to promote a model (EFQM Model) to improve business performance through a more comprehensive and articulated approach to the classical ISO 9000 models. This model allows companies to self-assess and participate in the European Quality Award (EQA), a prize managed by the same foundation.

In the EFQM model, the company is analyzed by many elements (or sub-criteria) that are then grouped into nine main criteria, each with its own weight. The rating obtained with respect to each criterion then concurs, based on the model's weight, to the company's final evaluation.

Policies can be distinguished in two areas:

Enabling factors (what does the company do to achieve good results):

Results (what the company produces):

The model is particularly effective in integrated systems where it is necessary to merge ISO 9001, ISO 14000, SA 8000 and OHSAS 18001 certifications. Voices correlateemodify wikitesto Links externalize the wikitesto
