HKS

HKS-color sampler

HKS is a color system that contains 120 spot colors and 3250 tones for coated and uncoated paper. HKS is an abbreviation of three German companies: Hostmann-Steinberg Druckfarben, Kast + Ehinger Druckfarben and H. Schmincke & amp; Co.

HKS colors, like Panton colors, can be used in any form of printed publication to produce predictable colors. As in the Panton color system, there are also colors in the HKS color system that can not be reproduced using color from the CMYK color range, such as bright orange or certain color tones blue.

The HKS color system follows the guidelines of ISO 12647: 2 2002 and the FOGRA standards (such as Fogra27L). This means that HKS colors are available on all 12647 paper types. This makes it easier to print colors, both in offset and with conventional digital printing technologies.
