In Shi'ish Islam, there is doubt about her origin; They claim that Roekajja was not a Mohammed daughter. They claim that Roekajja was more likely a stepdaughter of the Prophet, and perhaps even a adopted daughter of Khadija. The fact that she was married to Oethman certainly does not make her from a shiite perspective one of the most popular women in early Islam. Here are some controversies about; According to some sources, she was first married to Utbah ibn Abu Lahab but was expelled by him at the request of his father Abu Lahab, one of Muhammad's furthest opponents in Mecca. This paved the way for a marriage with Oethman, an early converge of Islam and one of Mohammed's closest companions.
