Vintersorg is a metal band from Skellefteå, Sweden. The forerunner of Vintersorg, Vargatron ("Wolfstroon") was founded in 1994. But after two years, the driving force behind this band, Andreas Hedlund (a.c. Vintersorg), left it for washing and went on its own. It is therefore especially a one-man project, although the guitarist, Mattias Marklund, is now seen as a full member of the band. Winter care style is described as epic and post-black metal. The voice is generally somewhat less heavy than the known metal grunt. The texts cover topics such as fantasy, mythology and astrology.
In addition to his activities at Vintersorg, Andread Hedlund is also active as a singer at Borknagar. He also helps with Havayoth. One of his other projects, Otyg, was stopped in 2003.
