The Jämtö River (Swedish: Jämtöälven) is a Swedish waterway, which causes the Jämtöfjord to drain to the Jämtösund, a bottom of the Gulf of Bothnia. The Jämtö River does not meet the definition of a river, it is a remnant of a deep gorge (slime?) In the landscape. The area around the nicknamed Jämtön has risen over the past 1000 years. The river probably used to be a strait between the island and the mainland. The river is about 2.5 kilometers long and runs along Jämtön. It does not appear on the official list of rivers in Sweden.
