Thérèse Bertherat

Thérèse Bertherat (Lyon, May 28, 1931 - Paris, May 19, 2014) was a French physiotherapist, chinese therapist, who introduced antiginctics with Françoise Mézières.

Author of Guarire with Antiginnastica (in French Corps a ses raisons, 1976), proposes an approach to study and work on the body different from that of traditional chinesiterapia. Influenced by the ideas of Ida Rolf, Fritz Perls, Françoise Mézières, the body has its own memory and intelligence in its conception. Antiginnastica T.B. (where T.B.s are the initials added to differentiate the method from the various others circulating at that time) provides for simple and precise movements that are not imposed on the body, as in traditional gymnastics. They are instead proposed to the body that lives them by finding their own way, with the goal of freeing memories and tensions accumulated in the tissues.

Among the books translated into Italy, Guarire con antiginnastica (Oscar Mondadori 1999), The Tiger in Body (Mondadori, 2002). Notemodify wikitesto
