The Order of the Fatherland (Kazakhs: Отан ордені, Russian: Орден Отан), in the language "Otan" or "Autant", is a high distinction from the republic of Kazakhstan. The order has a single degree; the Chevalier.
The knight order is granted for special merit for the state, the economy, art, culture and science. Military merit and "promoting democratic and social development" are also eligible for this order. The carriers are enrolled in the "Book of Glory" of Kazakhstan.
The round minority of the order consists of a weapon on a blue surface. On the ring is a golden wreath that is tied together with a red ribbon. On that ribbon is cryptic "OTAH" or "fatherland".
The first copies of the word mark were worn to Soviet example as a typical socialist order on a short ribbon with two metal braces. Later copies are carried on a rectangular ribbon drawn by a ring in Western Europe.
