Serene Omar (Biandrate, April 29, 1815 - Novara, February 22, 1878) was an Italian politician, Giuseppe's brother, founder of the "OMAR" industrial institute in Novara, a student of the Collegio Caccia in Novara and graduated in Jurisprudence in Turin.
He has held several public positions: he has been sitting for twenty years in the Municipal Council of Novara, was Mayor of Novara, Provincial Councilor, Parliamentary Deputy, head of the Institute of the Poor, administered the Civic Hospital of Novara and finally was the first President of the Banca Popolare di Novara.
