Victor Constantin Van Steenberge


Victor Constantin Van Steenberge (Smeerebbe-Vloerzegem, August 10, 1848 - April 28, 1930) a Belgian politician was active in his native village and afterwards in the town of Geraardsbergen. He was the son of Pierre François Van Steenberge (1815-1876) and Marie Thérèse Priem (1814-1873) and became a mason of occupation. Generations politics

Victor became a city councilor in 1911 and the year afterwards: first in Smeerebbe-Vloerzegem, after the merger in 1913 he became ships of the town of Geraardsbergen. He was known as a daensist and flamingant at that time. He remained in office until 1921.

He was the father of Paul Van Steenberge who became a brewer, professor and politician. This included Mayor of Ertvelde and Brewery in Bios Brewery. As well as the grandfather of his successor in politics and in the brewery Jozef Van Steenberge.
