Dogdance

Dogdance the free nature

Dogdance is a form of sport with dogs originally from the United States. In dogdance, dog and man (the handler) perform rhythmic movements under the guidance of music. If a dog has learned enough, a routine can be put together.

This dog sport is a mix of obedience training, performing tricks and dancing. It is also called Canine Freestyle. The sport originates in obedience. (Obedience).

There are two types of dogdance: Canine freestyle  The dog may stay far from the handler, giving it a spectacular show. Heelwork to music  The dog must stay at a distance of 1.30 m from his owner Matches

Matches are organized by the FHN and the NDDB. For the competitions of the NDDB a starting card is required. These can be requested via DTC Sport. Categories

The WCFO, the American World Organization for Canine Freestyle, advocates a general rule that is used throughout the world. The WCFO contest divisions are: Junior, Adults, Duo's, Groups, Veterans and Disabled. Within most of these classes one can choose between Musical Freestyle or Heelwork to Music.
