Filino di Agrigento

Agrigento's Philly (Greek: Φιλῖνος; Agrigento, 3rd century BC ...) was an ancient Greek historian.

Filino di Agrigento is the author of a lost historical work on the first Punic war, to which he participated in fighting against the Romans. In that war, in 262 BC, Agrigento was conquered by the Romans who plundered and enslaved most of its inhabitants.

It is one of the sources of Fabio Pittore, Nevio and Polibio, who did not use his criticisms of Roman conduct in the war. Links externalize the wikitesto
