Sportpark 't Lageveld is home to the football clubs SVZW Wierden, SV Up and WVV Wierden. The last two clubs are now a fusion club, Juventa '12. Recreation area
North of the sports park, between the 2nd Lageveldsweg and the N749, is the 38-hectare day recreation area Het Lageveld. This area is managed by the Twente Region and is located around a 6.5 hectare recreation pool with sandy beaches and sunbathing areas. There is also a forest plot for recreational purposes.
