Metro van Bangalore


The Bangalore subway (Kannada: ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮೆಟ್ರೊ) or Namma Metro (Kannada: ನಮ್ಮ ಮೆಟ್ರೊ, our subway) is a subway system in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The authority responsible for the construction is the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL). The first piece between Baiyyappanahalli and MG Road was taken on October 20, 2011. The metro is expected to decrease traffic pressure in areas such as Majestic (Kempegowda Bus Station and Bangalore Station), Sampige Road, Hudson Square and MG Road. the first phase of Namma Metro

At the end of 2011 the network has 7 stations and the length is 7 kilometers. The first phase will be scheduled in 2014 and consists of 2 lines, 41 stations and a total of 42 kilometers of track.
