Real Massa

The term mass real is a mass synonym, but is used in astronomy to differentiate the measured mass of a planet from the lower mass limit generally obtained by the radial velocity method. The methods used to determine the real mass of a planet include measuring distance and periods of one of its natural satellites, advanced astrometry techniques that use the motion of other planets within the same star system, combining speed-based techniques radial with transitive observations (which indicate very low orbital inclinations), and combining radial-based techniques with stellar parallax measurements (which also determines orbital inclination).
