Sinuhe Egyptian (in original Sinuhe egyptiläinen) is a historical novel by Mika Waltari, first published in 1945. It is the first and most famous novel by the Finnish writer. From this novel was taken the 1954 homonymous movie.
It is set in ancient Egypt of the eighteenth dynasty, at the time of Pharaoh Akhenaton. The protagonist is an imaginary character, Sinuhe, the real doctor, who tells the story of his exile after the fall and death of Akhenaton and his trips to Syria, Mitanni, Babylon, Crete and Hittites.
