Windlust (Brouwershaven)

Windlust is a small but functional grain mill in the Dutch city of Brouwershaven.

This mill was built in 1935 by mill maker J. van de Hammer. The mill's goal, which has about one third the size of the average mill, was to demonstrate its findings to its customers. During the Second World War, the mill generated electricity so the owner could listen to the radio. Afterwards, the municipality of Brouwershaven became owner of Windlust. In 1955 the mill was moved to its current location, close to the marina. When a storm stormed the mill in 1990, the municipality restored it. Volunteers are now grinding grain. The mill, owned by the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland, can be visited when it's running.

The mill has the status of municipal monument. 51° 43′ 38″ NB, 3° 55′ 2″ OL
