Flavio Monaceio or Monassio (Latin: Flavius Monaxius; floruit 408-420; ... - ...) was a high ranking politician of the Eastern Roman Empire.
From January 17, 408 to April 26, 409 was the praefectus urbi of Constantinople. Towards the end of his term there was a shortage of food in the city, and the population focused on the praetorium by destroying it and dragging it around the city streets.
He was prefect of the Pretoria of the East between 10 May and 30 November 414 and then a second time between August 26, 416 and May 27, 420. In 419 he was consul. Four of his servants became monks at the monastery of St. Stephen. Notemodify wikitesto Bibliografiamodifica wikitesto Primary sources Secondary sources
