The Greensville correctional center is a detention site located at the small town of Jarrat, Virginia. Run by the Virginia Department of Corrections, which deals with prisons in Virginia, is one of the prisons in which capital punishment is executed in that state. The prison was opened in 1990 with a ceremony by Virginia L. Douglas Wilder, governor, and cost $ 106 million to replace two old prisons at Richmond.
