SC Turbine Erfurt

Champion football DDR 1954-1955

SC Turbine Erfurt was a performance-oriented sports club from East Germany Erfurt.

The club was founded in 1954 from the BSG Turbine Erfurt. Initially, the club was also active in football and played in the DDR-Oberliga. In 1966 it was decided that football gained a special status in the DDR and thus all the football clubs of the sports clubs were made independent and the bigger cities became a FC. The Motor Division became FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt.

The club also had successful sections in athletics, cycling and swimming where various European and Olympic champions were.

After the German reunification, the club was dissolved and joined TSV Erfurt.
