Séamus Kirk (Drumkeith (County Louth), April 26, 1945) was the cean comhairle of Irish Dáil Éireann, the chairman or speaker of the Irish warehouse from 2009 to 2011. Prior to his political career, he was a consultant in the agriculture sector. Ken Council Kirk was first elected to the Louth County Council (Dundalk) in 1974, where he stayed until 1985. In 1982 he was elected for the first time as a member of the Dáil Éireann for the Fianna Fáil for the next elections to be re-elected.
From 1987 to 1992 he was appointed minister at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. From 2002 to 2009, Kirk was a group leader for his party. On October 13, 2009 he became the speaker of the Irish warehouse following John O'Donoghue. He took it from Dinny McGinley (Fine Gael) with 87 votes against 51. Externe link
