Vacansoleil is a Dutch tour operator with its headquarters in Eindhoven. History
The Vacansoleil family company was founded by Frans Backers in 1969 and later expanded by his son Wim. The company has now become Europe's leading provider of camping holidays, with offices in eight countries. A private travel agency was opened in 1990 and in 2001 the company became a recognized learning company on behalf of the National Agency for Vocational Education, Tourism and Nutrition. In 2003, the first own campsite was acquired, Le Chêne Gris near Paris, which would form the start of the Iris Parc campsite. Here in 2007 the campsite Le Grand Dague, campsite Château de Galaure and in 2011 campsite Brikelt in Luxembourg will be added.
