Compulsory medical checkup


Compulsory Health Check (A.S.O.) is a legal procedure valid throughout Italy, consisting in visiting a patient with critical psychological problems who do not agree to volunteer for a medical examination.

To get the A.S.O. a medical certificate is required, performed either by the family doctor or by the Mental Health Office; In order to activate A.S.Or, both an urgent case (within 2 days) and non-urgent (maximum 7 days) is required by a Mayor's order, which is issued only after the delivery of the medical certificate.
