Gemeenschappelijk Onder Stadskanaal - Ter Apel

The Gemeentelijk Onder Stadskanaal - Ter Apel (GOSTA) at Stadskanaal (then Onstwedde Municipality) was founded on 1 November 1920 by the municipalities Onstwedde and Vlagtwedde.

The goal was to continue the horse tram services between Stadskanaal and Ter Apel on 1 October 1920, after conversations with the Steamtramweg Society Oostelijk Groningen (OG) to continue to operate the tram service on this former EGTM route were nothing ended. At an auction in Ter Apel the rolling stock and the remedy were bought in Ter Apel. The tramway was taken directly from the OG.

On 7 April 1923, the municipality of Onstwedde decided to liquidate the GOSTA because of the rising deficits. On April 30, 1923, the horse tram last ran, after which the equipment, the remises and the rails were sold. Public transport on the route was continued by buses from Bergman's Car Service at Ter Apel.
