Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano (Apan, December 25, 1974 - Progreso, October 7, 2012) was a Mexican deserted military and criminal. Lazcano was the presumed leader of the Zetas. He had the nickname El Verdugo (De Beul).
Lazcano Lazcano was military at the special units of the Air Mobile Group of Special Units (GAFE) in southern Mexico. He followed combat training and training in military information and counter terrorism. In 1997, the GAFE was sent to northern Mexico to fight the Osiel Cárdenas Gulf Cave. Several members of the GAFE, including Lazcano, deserted and founded the Zetas, who joined the Gulf Cave in 1999.
