John van den Borst (Hoensbroek, November 30, 1956) is a Dutch dammer who played 10 times in the national finale. The best result (silver) he achieved in the Dutch championship dams of 1986. In that year he also played in the world championship dams. In the foul final round of the Dutch championship in 1986 his opponent was Jannes van der Wal. Van der Wal stayed in the train. The incident contributed to Van der Walt's national reputation. Van den Borst is the first and only Limburger with the titles national and international grandmaster.
