The unknown soldier's tomb is a monument in Paris where the physical surplus was buried from an unknown soldier.

At the end of the First World War, the German Capitulation was signed on Armistice Day (11 November 1918). Since then, this day is commemorated. In 1919, the plan was to bury an unidentified soldier in the Panthéon in memory of the dead. Later it was decided to bury him at the Arc de Triomphe. On 10 November 1920 a chest was added to the chapel on the first floor of the Arc. On 28 January 1921 the soldier was eventually buried in the present place. The inscription on the sack lists: ICI REPOSE UN SOLDAT FRANÇAIS MORT POUR LA PATRIE 1914-1918 (Here lies a French soldier who died for the fatherland 1914-1918). Also see
