Weene is a village in the German state of Lower Saxony. Administratively, it is part of the municipality of Ihlow, located in the Aurich district of East Frisia.
Weene lies around a war on which the Nicolaas church dates back to the thirteenth century. The church was in an open plain in its early years and served as a prayer house for the surrounding villages of Ostersander and Schirum. Later there was also a small core in the church. Today, Weene has grown largely to Ostersander.
